Come along to this year’s Verb Readers & Writers Festival and enjoy two Gecko Press family events on 5–6 November.

Head to the City Gallery Wellington on the Sunday for stories, snacks, activities, a story spider web, book making and more. There will be picture book readings in multiple languages — including Free Kid to Good Home — book nooks for cosy reads, interactive crafts, activities and heaps more. And you can join Juliette MacIver, author of The Grizzled Grist Does Not Exist at Capital E on Saturday for a storytelling adventure.

Free Kid to Good Home

Duration: 12 pm, 45 mins

Ages: 3+

Parents, take a seat while your kids settle in for Free Kid to Good Home by Hiroshi Ito read in both English and Japanese, and then watch them make a glorious mess of the City Gallery as they make their own ‘Free Kid!’ box to take home.
